Scholars in Service
Carlow students commit to 300+ hours of service through AmeriCorps program
During the 2009 -2010 academic year, three Carlow students will serve as Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania (SISPA). SISPA is coordinated via PHENND and schools throughout the Commonwealth of PA are eligible to apply. Carlow's Scholars will engage in either 300 or 450 hours of service this year. They will primarily commit to one organization but will participate in various opportunities to encourage others to volunteer as well. They will also participate in bi-weekly leadership development training. Scholars will receive an AmeriCorps education award at the completion of their term.
But you don't have to be a Scholar in Service to volunteer! The Center will be coordinating a Leadership in Service program for others that would like to volunteer this year and attend some leadership development sessions. Contact the Service-Learning and Outreach Center staff for more information.
