Service Learning at Carlow

Service Learning is...

...a learning experience that combines academic course work and community or co-curricular activities in ways that support the values and mission of Carlow and the general education core curriculum.

...a method through which citizenship, skills, values and academic subjects are taught within a course and additional lessons are drawn from the experience of performing community service.

...a link between academic coursework and societal issues that encourages reflection on one's role in the community and an understanding of the skills acquired.

...a reflection on one's service learning activities that connects the experience with coursework, skills and learning acquired, contributions made, and the Mercy Mission.
