The link above has a list of non-profit agencies that address the needs of many in the Pittsburgh region. Students may contact these agencies with a request to perform their Service Learning experience with them, or they may seek out an agency of their choosing. The agency shold be identified and approved by their Service Learning sponsor before beginning the service hours.
Some of the issues that are addressed by these agencies include:
- Homelessness
- Hunger
- Poverty
- People with HIV/AIDS
- The elderly
- Youth at risk
- Child abuse
- Culture and art
- People with disabilities
